The lids that come with it fit both regular and wide mouth mason jars which was a pleasant surprise. I've been sealing things like dried herbs and oats and the pump pulls a noticeably firm vacuum. You can actually feel the resistance when you try to lift the lid after sealing.

what i like is that the kit has everything together. the pump, the lids, nothing extra to hunt down. i use it mostly for keeping coffee beans fresh and you can tell a real difference in how long the aroma lasts compared to just clipping a bag shut.
Previous one I owned would pop the seal if I bumped the jar. This one stays secure even when I'm moving jars around in the pantry. Really noticed the difference when I opened a jar of brown sugar after a while and it was still soft.
