The 12 hour timer is genuinely useful. I set it before bed so it runs through the warmest part of the night and shuts off on its own. Don't have to think about it at all, which is exactly what I wanted.

filling the water tank and dropping in some ice cubes on a really hot day takes the cool air to another level. It blows noticeably colder for a good stretch after that. Simple but it works really well.

honestly this thing fills up way easier than I expected. My old one had this awkward little hatch that you'd always spill water trying to open. This one is straightforward and I haven't made a mess once.
